The pregnancy test indicates that you are pregnant, but this does not automatically imply that you are or will remain pregnant.  It can save you a lot of time and money to find out if your pregnancy is viable before you decide to terminate it.  A “viable” pregnancy is one in which the baby has been placed in the uterus and there is a heartbeat.  Miscarriage occurs in 10%-20% of all known pregnancies. Another 2% are ectopic pregnancies, which occur when the embryo develops outside the womb.  Make sure your pregnancy is viable before going through an unnecessary medical procedure.

Your pregnancy is confirmed, and you don’t want to have children at the moment or at all? Then it’s time to search “abortion clinic around me.” However, you should consider these things before making an appointment.

1. You Deserve an Informed Choice

You could be thinking that you can’t have a baby right now. You cannot afford a child.  You have school or employment to consider. The baby’s father may abandon you. You are under pressure from family, friends, and your father. You can’t deal with the pressure. There are various reasons why women consider abortion, but whatever your thoughts are, it’s critical to take your time, do your research, and make an informed decision you can live with.  Having all the facts at your service will enable you to make the best pregnancy decision.

Speaking with a trusted advocate and licensed medical expert can give you peace of mind regarding your decision.  Abortion is a serious medical decision that affects your body.  You owe it to yourself to have up-to-date knowledge.

2. You Have Different Options

Abortion techniques come in a variety of forms. The type you get and how much it costs are nearly entirely determined by your stage of pregnancy. It is critical to get pre-screened before arranging an abortion to ascertain the gestational age and viability of your pregnancy.

 Abortion Types

  • The abortion pill (sometimes referred to as RU-486)

This form of abortion requires two drug dosages and can be performed up to 10 weeks. The first, Mifeprex (Mifepristone), is used to terminate a pregnancy.  The second medication, Misoprostol, is used to induce labor, resulting in cramping and bleeding, which completes the abortion and expels the embryo.  If pharmaceutical abortions do not go as planned, an aspiration abortion may be required.

  • Surgical abortion

Vacuum aspiration (5-14 weeks after the last menstrual period): A patient’s cervix may need to be dilated depending on how far along they are in their pregnancy.  After that, a plastic tube is introduced through the cervix and into the uterus.  The embryo or fetus is then suctioned out using either a hand-held syringe or a machine-operated pump.  Anesthesia, either local or general, is required;

Dilation and evacuation (2nd trimester): This method of abortion, often known as a D&E, involves the use of forceps to remove the fetus from the patient’s uterus.  This is done under general anesthesia;

Labor induction abortion (2nd and 3rd Trimesters): This abortion method terminates a pregnancy by first killing a fetus with a deadly dose of a chemical.  The patient is subsequently sent into labor and the fetus is delivered.

All abortion methods carry risks and the possibility of complications.  So, before you arrange an abortion, get pre-screened and discuss these options with a medical professional.

3. It’s Your Body and Your Choice

You should not allow anyone to put you under pressure to make a decision you are not comfortable with.  People have strong opinions about what you should and should not do throughout your pregnancy, but remember that it is your pregnancy.  And whatever you decide will have an impact on your life.  So take a big breath and allow yourself some space.  A decision of this magnitude deserves to be taken in calm, not in haste.
